The MJ 16 showing area is underlain by rocks of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group.

The area was mapped as being underlain by phyllite and argillaceous quartzite. In 1988 an outcrop of white vuggy quartz vein containing a trace of chalcopyrite, pyrite, and galena assayed 0.48 gram per tonne gold, 138.2 grams per tonne silver, 1.71 per cent copper, 0.62 per cent lead and 0.14 per cent zinc (Sample DM-20, Assessment Report 18134). Sample A sample of sulphide-bearing brecciated quartz vein in outcrop, located about 200 metres south of sample DM-20, assayed 0.54 gram per tonne gold (Sample DM-18, Assessment Report 18134).

Assessment Report 18134, 21883 (Map 1) shows that the areas of the MJ 16 showing was prospected by International Phoenix Energy Corp/Prolific Resources and by Skeena Resources Ltd (formerly Prolific) in 1988 and/or 1991 as the MJ property.
